has anybody out there seen that one Clerks (cartoon) episode where Judge Reinhold is a judge and Axel Foley bursts into the courtroom exclaiming: "Billie! I need yer help, man." and Judge goes: "Alright! Axel!" and they run out of the courtroom and stuff bananas into mufflers until the fruit stand sadly reports to the duo: "I'm sorry. We're all out of bananas." fucking classic. well, that's pretty much Beverly Hills Cop in a nutshell. i remember watching glimpses of this film before and wondering why Eddie Murphy doesn't play a funny jerk, but a wise ass everyman. don't git me wrong, it's got its moments. it's just that, well/i think i remember Metro being a better remake....better look into that...VERDICT: Skip it.

PostScript: actually, better skip METRO too/i think the cover sez Roger and Ebert gave it Two Thumbs Up, but those guys usually have their thumbs up their asses/also half the critics at Rotten Tomatoes didn't even bother complaining about it. if it ain't worth their time, then dammit, it ain't worth mine.
